On Monday, four Newcastle College colleagues and students had the honour of attending the Association of College’s Winter Parliament Reception at the House of Lords at Westminster.
They were there to help launch the AOC’s brand-new report on the role of colleges in supporting the government’s five core missions. We are incredibly proud that our Energy Academy is recognised in the report as a significant contributor to the government’s net zero mission.
Ian, Gaskill and Paul Turnbull, along with Energy Engineering students Dylan Bingham and Sonny Williamson were all invited to the launch to meet with MPs and leaders from across the FE sector to talk about the work we do through our Energy Academy, the partnerships we forge and the impact that our green skills training has on our students and the energy industry here in the North East. Dylan said it was 'an amazing opportunity and such a great experience' while Paul said the trip was a 'once in a lifetime experience’.
