Our Level 3 Adult Health learners recently took part in a fun and interactive session with Angie Stewart from Disability North, gaining an inspiring insight into disability awareness and inclusive practice. The session was packed with real-life discussion, hands-on activities and sector-focused learning, helping learners explore the barriers some individuals may face, and how health and social care professionals can promote dignity, equality and independence through person-centred care. Students left feeling more confident, motivated and workplace-ready, and were proud to receive a certificate of completion, along with access to real work opportunities linked to Disability North. Angie said: “This collaboration has enabled students to understand the lived experiences of disabled people and empathise with why choice, freedom and control are so important. Students are now aware of job opportunities they may not have previously considered, which has ignited a passion for a different approach to health and social care. Their values and skills put them in a strong position for successful recruitment.” A huge thank you to Disability North for supporting our learners and helping shape the future health and social care workforce
