Yesterday I visited Carlisle College to meet Principal, Sarah McGrath and tour the college’s very impressive facilities.
We had a useful discussion about the challenges facing Further Education, particularly the inflexibility of current funding arrangements.
Our FE colleges are increasingly stretched, and the government policy often means funded programmes don’t align with skills needs. Labour will simplify the funding landscape for colleges to better enable them to deliver on local skills needs and priorities.
