🚀 From Level 1 Student to Award-Winning Apprentice! ⭐
We are incredibly proud to share that Jake Waite has been awarded Plastering Apprentice of the Year! 🏆
Jake joined Carlisle College at just 16 as a Level 1 Plastering student and has since shown exceptional commitment as he progressed to Level 2 and into his apprenticeship with Eddie Wannop Ltd . His aspirational attitude, work ethic, and willingness to grasp every opportunity truly set him apart.
Along the way, Jake has achieved:
🏆 1st place at NCG Skills
🥉 3rd place at the Skillbuild Regional Heats
🏅 British Gypsum Apprentice of the Year 2024
Jake represents exactly what can be achieved by young people who embrace the training, work experience, and support available to them in further education and the construction industry.
A key milestone for Jake was his development at the K-Rend Academy, which he described as a pivotal moment that boosted his confidence and enhanced his practical ability.
Jake’s achievements are recognised by everyone around him - including his Site Manager at Wannop Ltd, who said:
“What can I say about Jake - everything. He is never late, always conscientious and working to a high standard. He’s helpful, never on his phone, and his tutors always praise him. We must also thank his parents for bringing up such a polite, friendly guy.”
Jake’s journey from a Level 1 student to an award-winning apprentice is the perfect example of what determination, opportunity, and high-quality training can lead to.
