👀 Sneak Preview Words Matter, a new short film focusing on the profound impact of the vocabulary used when responding to bullying has been commissioned by Spiral, a Carlisle-based charity dedicated to supporting local people facing the effects of bullying. The project serves as a major milestone in the charity's innovative "Listen" project, which is funded by the National Lottery Awards for All. 🎞️ The project will make its public debut on Thursday, 11th June at 5:00 PM at Carlisle College Arts Campus on Strand Road. 🎞️ The viewing is open to the public and is free to attend - please head directly to the Arts Campus for 5pm. As a key part of this initiative, the short film Words Matter explores how language plays a definitive role in both escalating and diffusing conflict among teenagers. Rather than focusing solely on physical actions, the narrative zeroes in on the specific words chosen by victims, bystanders, and peers, offering a raw, educational look at modern youth communication. The production represents a major community collaboration, with Media and Performing Arts students from Carlisle College working as both technical crew and on-screen actors. Giving local emerging talent invaluable, real-world industry experience, the college students embraced the filmmaking process with exceptional creativity and professionalism. #media #filmmaking #content #acting #bullyingawareness
