Carlisle College Graduate Wins Top Honours at Prestigious Steel to Reel Awards

Carlisle College alumna, Ava Dickinson, has achieved outstanding success at this year’s Steel to Reel Awards in Bolton, Manchester - taking home two major titles: Best Editing and Best Overall Film. Hosted by the University of Greater Manchester, the Steel to Reel Awards celebrate emerging talent in film and media production. Ava’s film impressed judges with its creativity, technical skill, and powerful storytelling, earning her recognition among some of the region’s most promising young filmmakers. Reflecting on her win, Ava said: “It was such an honour to even be nominated. When I first entered my film into the festival, I expected nothing of it, but when I found out I was nominated, I was thrilled.
